Activity 4

Today we did a lab that tested the reflection of salt and water. The tow substances had pretty different charactristics for the reflection of energy. The salt reflected more heat because it was the lightest color. This activity related to the ice caps because it showed that ice reflects alot o fenergy because of it's very light color.

Activity 1

Today we did a lab that tested the different absorbtion qualities of soil, water, and snow. The dirt obviously absorbed the most heat because it is dark, while snow and water are light and transparent. This activity applies to my topic because it displayed that ice heats and cools much slower than soil, and it helped infer the rate at which the ice caps are melting.

april fools day

Yesterday was april fools day and the weather played a trick on us. In the beginning of the day it looked as though it was going to be near 60 degrees, and that my freinds and i were going to be able to play BFL. When i got to the school to play BFL it was only around 30 degrees, and we werent able to play. Mother nature played a mean joke on us yesterday.

Dewpoint and atmospheric precipitation 3/31

The assignment from today had a direct correlation with the ice caps melting. The ice caps melting has not only been a consequence of rising temperatures with relation to dew points, but has also obviously been a contributing factor in the water cycle by providing all the water from the melting ice.
